SOCAL CERVECEROS HOMEBREW CLUB LAUNCHES DIA DE LOS CERVECEROS Y COCINEROS; A CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL BENEFITTING PLAZA DE LA RAZA & EL CENTRO DE AYUDA

“One of the most important homebrew clubs in the world” -Beer Paper (July 2018)

Los Angeles - The country’s premiere Latino focused homebrew club is set to launch Dia de los Cerveceros y Cocineros: a homebrewed craft beer festival featuring over 30 Latino homebrewers, a curated lineup of local food vendors, live music, DJs, art and artisan craft vendors. The festival is slated for Sunday Oct, 21, 2018. 1pm-6pm.

With over 30 home brewers pouring at the festival, SCC is setting a new precedent by out doing their own Coldchela craft beer fest, produced earlier this May. With 20 home brewers on hand, Coldchela garnered the distinction as the largest gathering of Latino brewers ever. Dia de los Cerveceros y Cocineros looks to put an emphasis on food by showcasing an array of independent food vendors from Los Angeles County. Compton based chef, Juan Garcia, brings his Goat Mafia brand of birria inspired dishes. Goat Mafia is quickly becoming known for their creative smoked meat options. With a constant presence in the local brewery scene, In the Cut Kitchen is sure to stand out with their unique style of craft quesadillas. Plenty more food options will be available including vegan fare by Zaneta’s Kitchen. A staple at SCC events, Zaneta Santana’s dishes will have meat lovers reconsidering their options. Many more food vendors will be announced online as event date approaches.

SCC members are known for brewing competition winning beers using ingredients influenced by culture and heritage. Attendees can expect to taste a wide range of unique craft beer. Styles include an array of fan favorites  from IPA, Hazy IPA, Hefeweizen, Lager, to Belgian Saison, Witbier and Golden Stout to name just a few. For those who enjoy drinking cider, they have you covered too.

Staying true to their mission statement of supporting local Latino owned businesses, charities and nonprofits alike, the SoCal Cerveceros have partnered with Plaza de la Raza and El Centro de Ayuda. Both nonprofit organizations have well over three decades of servicing the local communities of East/Northeast Los Angeles, respectively. 100% of ticket sales will be donated to both orginizations in an effort to help support their continued work.
